Afghanistan’s NDS have arrested ten Chinese nations suspected of espionage

The ten Chinese nations have been detained by Afghanistan’s National Directorate of Security (NDS) on espionage charges. They were allegedly running a terror cell in Kabul with the help of the Pakistani spy agency, ISI, and two were in contact with terrorist outfit Haqqani Network which serves as the sword arm of the Taliban.

Pakistan’s notorious spy agency, the Inter-Services Intelligence(ISI), apparently worked as a mediator between terror outfit Haqqani Network (HQN) and the Chinese Intelligence agents.

The NDS has recovered arms, ammunition and recreational drug, Ketamine powder from their possession. A report from DNAINDIA.COM has said Chinese spies were working on a project to target and eliminate Uighur leaders in Afghanistan through terrorists. They wanted to ensure that the rebel movement against the Chinese Communist Party (CCP) comes to an end.

It exposes China’s misadventures to influence the internal affairs of democratic nations.

Afghanistan Vice President Amrullah Saleh is believed to have conveyed to the Chinese ambassador that it would consider a pardon for the Chinese nationals if Beijing submits a formal apology that admits to the violation of international norms and betrayal of Kabul’s trust. Otherwise, Afghanistan would go ahead with criminal proceedings.

Afghanistan shares its border with China’s Xinjiang, home to Uighur Muslims who seek refuge in the country. The Chinese communist government detains Afghan Uighurs upon their arrival in Xinjiang.
